The Patrol Division consists of the uniformed officers that are seen on the street everyday. They provide the initial response to all calls for service at the police department. Officers are on duty 24 hours per day, 7 days per week.

Included in the patrol division is the animal control function which is currently handled by Officer Neal Jones. Officer Jones handles all animal control issues such as the licensing of dogs, dogs running at large, and cruelty to animals. On some occasions he is also called upon to assist in the control of wild animals that have caused problems in the more urbanized areas.  As the newly appointed Parking Enforcement Officer he will also monitor parking violations in the Town of Exeter.
